After completing his doctoral studies at National Taiwan University, Dr. Chang was awarded the Desjardins Studentship Award in Child Health Research for his postdoctoral work in Dr. Makoto Nagano's laboratory at McGill University in Canada. His research during graduate school and postdoctoral training centered on developing human disease models and exploring the molecular pathways involved in tissue stem cell development. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Chang subsequently joined UMass Medical School as an instructor, working under the guidance of Dr. Robert Finberg, who was a distinguished physician and infectious disease researcher. Driven by his passion for tool development, Dr. Chang joined Dr. David Perlin's team in 2022, taking on the role of Virology Core coordinator for the Metropolitan AntiViral Drug Accelerator project and shifted his focus to creating innovative cellular systems for antiviral drug discovery.
